Structure of ELSA

Most of the activities in ELSA are made on local level. In Hungary we have four local groups: ELSA Budapest, ELSA Debrecen, ELSA Pécs, and ELSA Szeged. The local groups are established at the law faculties of the universities. (However the groups are totally independent of the faculties.)

The local groups are co-ordinated by the national groups. Today there are 36 national groups in Europe. One of them is ELSA Hungary.
The main tasks of ELSA Hungary:

  • co-ordinating the activities of the local groups;
  • carrying out nationwide projects
  • representing ELSA Hungary on international level.

The international level of ELSA is ELSA International. The executive body of ELSA International, the so called International Board consisting of seven persons, is elected by the national groups and fulfils its tasks for a one year term. The International Board fulfils its duties every year from the 1st of August till the 31st of July in Brussels, at the headquarters of ELSA, in the ‘ELSA House’.
