International Students Law Conference – iSLaCo’2012

St Petersburg, Russia

ELSA Saint Petersburg is very pleased to invite you to the 12th International Students Legal Conference iSLaCo “Rethinking Law in Digital Era: Digital Reality and Legal Regulation”, that will take place on 22-25 March 2012 in St. Petersburg.
iSlaCo’2012 will be organized in a brand new format in order to make participants’ work at the conference more effective and interesting. Traditional reports will be replaced with 9 discussion boards. Each of the boards is open for participants with background in different spheres (branches) of law. iSLaCo offers two discussion boards for English-speakers.
They are:
(1) Legal protection of electronic data in European, American and Russian law and (2) Digital state service: pro et contra.
We also have a discussion board for German-speaking participants. The topic is Bewertung der juristischbedeutsamen Aktionen in Internet.

Essay Competition

ELSA invites you to share your opinions!

The right to health care has been generally accepted as a fundamental human right, though merely a social right and therefore not legally enforceable in court. Nonetheless, some legal systems recognise the justiciability of the right to health. This has created opportunities to individual patients claiming healthcare access. As a link between state and citizens, it rising up the question: how will healthcare claims affect healthcare systems?

To present vision of the law students in Europe, ELSA International launched the 4th IFP Essay Competition: “Right to Healthcare”. The IFP Essay Competition is organised annually by ELSA International in line with the International Focus Programme (IFP) and its 7th topic focusing on Health Law. The best essays will be published on the website of the European Social Charter by the Council of Europe and on the website of the IFP Essay Competition.

The prizes of the competition will be provided by partners of ELSA:
Winner
: Legal English course at the London School of English
Runner up
: Summer School on Health Law and Ethics in the Erasmus Observatory on Health Law
2nd runner up
: Free participation in the IFP Mid-Evaluation Conference in Trieste, Italy, April 16th – 22nd 2012
The three best submissions will all receive publications and merchandise from the Council of Europe. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
